Rev. Dr. Charles Gilmer, President of The Impact Movement, Inc. and his wife Rebecca have been on the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ since 1981.They travel extensively speaking to college students, churches and business leaders. Dr. Gilmer is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. He has studied at The International School of Theology and Reformed Seminary in Orlando, FL. An ordained minister, Dr. Gilmer was honored with a Doctor of Divinity degree by Carver Bible College in 2006 in recognition of 25 years of ministry to African American students and young professionals. Rebecca is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and was the founding Vice President of the Impact Movement. She currently serves as Director of Special Projects.
The vision of The Impact Movement is to see each community of African descent fulfill its destiny as a reflection of the redemptive power of Jesus Christ. Their mission is to take the truth of Jesus Christ to the Campus, Community and the World by producing leaders of African heritage who are spiritually focused, financially responsible and morally fit. The Impact Movement has chapters on over 60 college campuses in this country and one in South Africa.
Dr. Gilmer is the author of the widely distributed evangelistic articles “Let’s Give the Dream New Life” and “The Truth about Jesus.” Dr. Gilmer has completed his first book, A Cry of Hope a Call to Action, a personal memoir which describes the emergence and evolution of The Impact Movement.
