Pastor Keith Moncrief is an anointed gift to the Body of Christ. As a spiritual leader, Bible teacher, church administrator, gifted Psalmist and music producer, he displays a great passion for the Kingdom of God and believes in the power of The Word to transform lives. In 2010, Pastor Moncrief assumed the Senior Pastorate of Missionary Temple Ministries (MTM) located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, a fast growing ministry that crosses generational and cultural lines. Prior to 2010, he heeded the call of God in 1998 to serve as Senior Pastor of Powerhouse of Deliverance Church #5 in Westover, West Virginia under the leadership of Bishop William L. Washington D.D., the presiding prelate of the Powerhouse of Deliverance Churches of the Apostolic Faith, Incorporated. Pastor Moncrief was then directed by God in 1999 to change the name of the church to Maranatha Millennium Ministries. He faithfully served there for 8 years and was honored to be elected to the General Board of the Presbytery of the Powerhouse organization.
Pastor Moncrief committed his life to the Lord at age seventeen and soon after, realized that God had plans for him that encompassed a global reach. In January 1974, he joined the Greater Pittsburgh Christian Temple where renowned pastor and founder Bishop Timothy Williams, Jr. mentored his early years in the ministry. This season was also augmented by the anointed teachings of Dr. Lorraine E. Williams at the Deliverance Bible Institute. Pastor Moncrief attributes much of what he has learned about Levitical Protocol, Biblical music ministry, and true worship to his tenure at Christian Temple.
Pastor Keith was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1985, and has remained faithful to the work of the Lord with signs and wonders following. He was appointed Minister of Music of Greater Pittsburgh Christian Temple in 1976 and was privileged to lead as many as two hundred singers and musicians in the music and arts department. During this time, he traveled both nationally and internationally spreading the Good News in song.
To help perfect his God given gifts, Pastor Moncrief pursued vocal training and studied jazz under Dr. James Johnson, the distinguished founder of the African-American Music Institute of Pittsburgh. As a composer, producer, and gospel music pioneer, he graciously shares his gifts through conferences, musical workshops, concerts, and symposiums. He is the founder of the Gospel Family Band, an aggregation of singers that tour Europe extensively, and has been a catalyst for international opportunities to many local artists. Pastor Moncrief has also mastered several instruments that include trombone, the oboe, bass violin, piano and organ.
While performing throughout the world, Pastor Keith has been blessed to share the platform with many Gospel greats such as; Bishop Walter Hawkins, Rev. John P. Kee, Pastor Daryl Coley, Edwin Hawkins, and his cousin, the late Danniebelle Hall, just to name a few. Pastor Keith has been credited for his success as musical director for several years in “The Black Nativity”; a critically acclaimed work by the African-American playwright, Langston Hughes; “The Thief Who Stole Christmas”, as well as “My Soul Looks Back and Wonders”; a 2004, African Grove Production in which the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette gave Pastor Moncrief and the Band, raving revues. He has also been privileged to play the main stages at The Marsiac, The Orleans in France and The Copenhagen Jazz Festivals as well as Pittsburgh’s own, Mellon Jazz Festival. In July 1994, he was the organist for “The Barbara Best Singers” in their notable, live Gospel recording at the world renowned Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. He is affectionately called the “Father of the Gospel Connection”, an annual gospel music conference held throughout Italy.
Pastor Keith’s greatest joy is his family. In 1981, he was united in a blessed union with his beautiful wife, Deborah, his partner in ministry and key advisor. He is the proud father of Lanelle, Krystyn and Aryka. Pastor Keith believes that continually seeking the face of God is key to staying synchronized with divine timing and seasons. He endeavors to attain ultimate destiny by utilizing his gifts and talents to glorify God. He also believes that through God he is called to impact generations who will usher in the coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
