CONFERENCE SPEAKER BIOS
Dr. Carl Ellis, Jr.
In 1969, Carl Ellis began his ministry as a Senior Campus Minister with the Tom Skinner Associates in New York. From 1979 to 1989, Carl served as the Assistant Pastor of Forest Park Community Church in Baltimore, MD, served on faculty at Chesapeake Theological Seminary, and served as a seminar instructor for Prison Fellowship where he developed and taught “in-prison” and “in-community” seminars for inmates and community volunteers. Between 1986 and 2009, Carl served as an adjunct faculty member at the Center for Urban Theological Studies (C.U.T.S.), and as Dean of Intercultural Studies at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA where he continues to serve at C.U.T.S. Carl is currently the Associate Pastor for Cultural Apologetics at New City Fellowship.
Dr. Ellis studied under Francis Schaeffer at LÁbri in Hermoz sur Olon’, Switzerland, completed his Masters in Theology at Westminster Theological Seminary, and holds a D.Phil. from Oxford Graduate School. (The Sociological Integration of Religion and Society)
Dr. William Glaze
Dr. William R. Glaze has been the Pastor of Bethany Baptist Church in Pittsburgh, PA since July 1990. Pastor Glaze hosts a daily radio broadcast named “Anchored in Jesus.” He is the Founder and Dean of the Pittsburgh Laymen’s Bible Institute – offering certification in Biblical Counseling and other Bible-based certificates.
Pastor Glaze completed his undergraduate studies at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado in 1978 where he was selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities. In 1984 he completed graduate studies at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, Virginia, where he was the recipient of The B. R. Lakin Award for Persuasive Preaching and awarded First Place in the Sermon Contest. In 1987, he earned a Doctor of Sacred Theology Degree from Bethany Theological Seminary, in Dothan, Alabama.
In 2010, he was recognized by the Center for Urban Biblical Ministry as an Urban Hero for his work in the inner city of Pittsburgh. Dr. William R. Glaze has used his gifts to serve the Lord in preaching, teaching, revivals, seminars, retreats, and conferences throughout the United States and Africa. He and his wife, Angie, were married in February 1977. They have four children and five grandchildren.
Rev. Mark Robinson
Rev. Mark Robinson is an ordained Teaching Elder in the Metro NYC Presbytery of the PCA and has served on the music and ministerial staff of a number of PCA and other churches in New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Currently, he is P/T Director of cross-cultural initiatives at Covenant Community PCA and serves as an adjunct instructor at the Reformed Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He completed his M.Div degree at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia. Currently, he is working on a regional project which helps believers integrate their faith with their work. Mark is thankful that the gospel of God’s free grace in Christ frees him to laugh. Otherwise, he would be too serious all the time.
