There is a motif of waiting laced throughout the psalms wherein God’s people are encouraged to wait on Him.  It is a time characterized by the spiritual virtues of trust, patience and expectation.  Even though it may be a time of stagnation, it also a period of strengthening.  Several acts accompany this time of waiting—righteous living and obedience to the way of the Lord.  The payoffs of waiting are enormous; the assurance of God’s perfect will and special blessings.
