Christopher Ebner is the President of Christian Literacy Associates, a nonprofit ministry headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA since 1975. Mr. Ebner Accepted the mantle of leadership from the ministry’s founder Dr. William E. Kofmehl, Jr., in December of 2013. The ministry provides the key to eliminate illiteracy, build relationships, and share the Good News using The Christian Literacy Series. Mr. Ebner has 16 years’ experience in the nonprofit management field, a B.S. from Geneva College in Community Ministry, and 10 years prior experience in retail management. Currently, Chris is finishing his studies with the Christian and Missionary Alliance’s Pennsylvania Bible Institute, studying to become a pastor.
Christopher is humbled to be leading the charge to equip churches and communities to fight illiteracy. Christian Literacy Associates has helped thousands of adults, and children, by training volunteer tutors to use their Bible-content basic reading textbooks known as The Christian Literacy Series to teach people how to read while presenting the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Whether the student does not know a single letter of the English alphabet or is just not reading at a functional adult level, Christian Literacy provides a proven solution. Christopher and his wife have two adopted daughters, ages 20 and 23.
