The Shawl Project

The Shawl project announces a new collaborative: “48 Afghans for 48 Veterans”.

Veteran’s Place of Washington Boulevard, a non-profit organization, has provided transitional housing for 48 formerly homeless veterans.  The Shawl Project seeks to gift each of these veterans with their own hand-crafted afghan to add warmth to their new residences.

The Shawl Project is holding a “Loom Knitting” class on Saturday, May 13th from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM.  No knitting needles or crochet hooks required.  The $20 fee includes the lesson, a loom, yarn and a finished square for you to keep.  Class is limited to 8 adults and 2 children age 12 or older.  Please register early.  Proceeds benefit the 48 Afghan Project.
